In previous decades the chocolate, which wrappers are displayed below, could afford only the rich and wealthy. Number of these chocolates are out of production, but many are still available even today, but with differently designed wrappers.
In the year 1870 Theodor Riegert established a chocolate factory and named it after himself. However, in 1925 it was re-named to "Laima".
The chocolate factory sold its production not only in Baltic region, but also exported to the Russian Empire. After being re-named to "Laima" the chocolate production expanded its market to places like New York City and British Palestine.
The main chocolate ingredients for "Laima" were cacao products, sugar, milk, and vanillin.
