Latvian National Armed Forces - Emblem

The ranking system of the Latvian National Armed Forces are used to separate between multiple ranking categories within the Latvian Army. Up to Latvian occupation in 1940, the differnetiation of ranking system within the Latvian National Armed Forces were placed on the collars. After regaining independence, the Latvian Army kept the old tradition of placing such emblems on the collars of ranking mamebrs within the army. However, nowadays, to preserve the uniqueness and history of these emblems, they are used only during the military parades.
