Vintage of German matchbox from World War II with a propaganda label on it that was given to Wehrmacht soldiers to raise morale. It is a part of a set that was found in Estonia, one of the Baltic States, where Germans tried to establish themselves during the war. This old matchbox is in an excellent and unused condition and it is still full of wooden matches. Apparently these logistics hadn’t reached the addressee. All these matchboxes have the Wehrmacht eagle with a wreath and thunder cross on them and they have words “Deutsche Streichholzer” (German striking matches) on the front. These match boxes where distributed to those soldiers who smoked to cheer them up (those who didn’t smoke – got candies).
