Soviet Lenin Young Pioneers "Always Ready" III Pin Badge Scouts

For most of the cold war, if there was an organization in one camp, the other would surely have a counterpart. the Young Pioneers were no exception as they were the direct counterpart to the USA's boy scouts. the Young Pioneers were for the youngest members of the VLKSM (or All-Union Communist Young Organization) in the USSR. all Marxist Leninist countries had some form of the pioneers. This pin truly shows the difference of both sides of the cold war through symbolism: in the USA the Boy Scouts of America had cute little animals, while the Young Pioneers had Lenin on an enameled Red Star of Socialism with "sailor jerry" flames. the ribbon says the motto of the Young Pioneers: "Vsegda Gotov (Always Ready)". very inspiring.

This badge is 11/16" by 1 1/16" and enameled on brass. there are three available classes (I,II, and III).
