His is an authentic pair of WWII German soldier’s gas mask spectacles, known as Masten-Brille, designed for use under standard issue gas masks during the Second World War.
These spectacles were a vital part of German military equipment, allowing soldiers who required vision correction to maintain visibility while wearing protective gear in hazardous environments.
The spectacles feature a lightweight metal frame with thin wire temples, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit beneath a gas mask. Their compact design and practical engineering make them a remarkable example of wartime optical innovation and German military precision.
This item is ideal for militaria collectors, WWII historians, or anyone interested in authentic World War II field equipment.
An interesting pair of WWII German metal frame gas goggles/goggles in their issue case marked “Masten-Brille”. These style goggles were issued with prescription lenses and also come with wax paper with a man’s prescription for each eye. There is also an extra set of grey straps under the bottom card. They are in excellent condition and appear to have been unworn, the outer casing shows signs of aging.
